We implemented a new theme engine to render our dynamic database driven URLs' into static html pages. Search engines generally do not index dynamic URLs, consequently a large portion of our website was being missed by the major search engines. The Apache mod_rewrite module addresses this issue rewriting dynamic URLs according to various rule sets. These rules are placed inside a .htaccess file in the root web directory for the web server to execute upon request. Yofitech used www.mtrad.com's Simple URL Theme which incorporates these rules into the Postnuke CMS. Hopefully, the major search engines will now be able to index our site properly with our new simple URLs in static html format.
