Yofitech, LLC hacked the NS-Your Account module for the PostNuke Content Management System. The hack or modification was packaged and added to the Yoftech Downloads module on Tuesday, April 15, 2003. I published an article on the PostNuke website the same day, alerting the community to the availability of Yofitech's NS-Your Account hack.
The feedback from the PN community has been very positive. Site owners and developers have reported they are using it and users notice the difference right away.
The Yofitech NS-Your_Account hack was designed to give non-technical users a central location to manage their web account. The NS-Your_Account previously allowed users to change their personal information like their password, change their comments configuration, add a menu to the homepage, and if allowed change their theme. All I did was extend this to include other functional links, so users could add FAQ, News, Web Links, Reviews, etc.
There were no file modifications done to the official module, I just added files under the modules/NS-Your_Account/user/links directory and images to the images/menu directory. Links were only added for official Postnuke modules, but other links could be added to extend the control panel's functionality for non-standard modules.
Since releasing the module our website has seen an increase in traffic, we served over 2000 pages since Tuesday, April 15, 2003. The Yofitech NS-Your_Account hack has been downloaded over 200 times in the past three days!
